Student Office Assistant for the Offices of Student Research, Creativity, & Experiential Learning (SRCEL) and Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) 

The Student Office Assistant will assist the Offices of Student Research, Creativity, & Experiential Learning (SRCEL) and Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) with planning and carrying out the Research & Creativity Symposium and other areas as needed to support the office mission. SRCEL supports student research & creativity initiatives on campus, while ORSP supports faculty and staff research & creative endeavors, student success initiatives, research compliance, and the pursuit of funding. The proposed start date is January 27, 2025, and the individual selected will work 8-10 hours per week on-campus during the 2025 spring semester. The position will pay $11 per hour. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning after December 16.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with planning for and carrying out the annual, university-wide Research & Creativity Symposium (ReCS) 
  • Develop and edit print and digital materials for ReCS and SRCEL, such as the ReCS program, abstract book, flyers, and brochures 
  • Assist with social media management of the SRCEL Instagram account
  • Provide administrative support in other areas as needed 

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Effective written communication skills 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel 
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with writing or editing 
  • Experience working in Adobe suite and/or graphic design programs 
  • Experience developing professional digital media 
  • Experience working in Microsoft Access
